Lynn’s presentation will include discussion of a trustee’s fiduciary duties to beneficiaries, the process of making discretionary distributions to beneficiaries, and other fiduciary exercises of discretion, such as “special” investments, loans to and from a trust, merger or severance of trusts, and more. Ms. Halpern is Managing Director and Senior Fiduciary Counsel at Bessemer Trust where she oversees Bessemer's estate planners and fiduciary officers in the Northeast region, as well as the firm's estate administration group. She is also responsible for working with clients and their advisors to develop practical and efficient wealth transfer plans and for guiding the firm on fiduciary issues.
