The full impact of the law has yet to be fully understood and the employer mandate, delayed for one year, will heat up the political debate even further.  In the meantime employers and individuals will need to understand the implications  of the marketplace developments for 2014 and beyond.   Join us in exploring the possibilities and key issues that should influence and inform organizational and personal decisions regarding healthcare benefits.\n \n \n \nGarry Straker is a Partner in the Group Health & Welfare Plans and Compensation & Human Capital divisions. As a Compensation Management Specialist and a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist®, Mr. Straker provides total rewards expertise to help clients achieve strategic goals through the creative design of employee benefits and compensation programs.\n \n \n \nHe has extensive knowledge of the Affordable Care Act provisions and its impact on plan sponsors. He develops viable benefit plan design alternatives by evaluating financing arrangements, benefit structure, pricing; vendor contracts and the risk characteristics of each group.\n \n \n \nMr. Straker also designs and implements compensation programs including base pay and incentive programs, and executive compensation plans. He focuses on delivering customized solutions that reflect the workforce dynamics, competitive environment and administrative capability of each client. His broad perspective, technical proficiency and collaborative approach are singularly focused on one thing: client results.\n \n \n \nPrior to joining CohnReznick Benefits Consultants, Mr. Straker was a founding partner and owner of PSL Consulting, a firm specialized in providing consulting services to a broad range of non-profit, higher education, healthcare and for-profit clients across nine states. An active member of the International Society of Employee Benefits Specialists, World at Work, and CUPA-HR, Mr. Straker is a frequent presenter on human resources, compensation and benefits topics at national and regional conferences. He holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from UConn (the University of Connecticut).\n \n \n \nThis program had been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 1.0 hours of total CLE credit.
